I keep walking along my usual haunts in the Sandia foothills thinking, that didn’t used to look that way, did it? Most of the time I’m pretty sure things are different but not positive. However I’m 100% sure about the gouge in this trail; it definitely wasn’t there only a month or two ago. I’d guess it’s about 7-8 inches deep (even as much as a foot, some places) and it just opened up this summer. We’ve had really prodigious amounts of rain this year.
